It remains to be seen whether Dallas Cowboys wider receiver Dez Bryant will actually take the field against Richard Sherman and the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday, but he took a step in that direction on Wednesday.
Missing since breaking his right foot in Week 1, Bryant returned to practice as the team prepares for an important Week 8 outing against the two-time defending conference champs.
Bryant took part in most of the drills the team went through, but was absent from the wide receiver-centric "tight cutting" drill — an indication that the Cowboys could have been taking it slowly with him in his first practice since September 11th.
Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett spoke about Bryant following practice, not really giving us much in terms of the team's intentions for him on Sunday:
"Hopefully, he can handle the work and we'll make our best judgments as a coaching staff as for what his role may or may not be for this weekend," Garrett said. "We'll evaluate him today and see if he can handle more work today as the day goes on and we'll see what he can handle tomorrow. We'll see if he's going to be ready to play in this ball game. But again we'll take it day-by-day."
It's of paramount importance for the Cowboys to get Bryant back in the mix. Over the course of the past four games, Dallas has tallied just two touchdown receptions.
Though, going up against Sherman after missing substantial action isn't necessarily the most ideal scenario for the star receiver.
We will have updates when they become available.
