Eagles Sign OT Lane Johnson to five-year extension

The Philadelphia Eagles are off to a busy start as they kick off their offseason, making it a priority to extend many of their top, young starters. After extending Zach Ertz to a five-year extension, the Eagles have agreed to a five-year extension with right tackle Lane Johnson.

Johnson's extension will run through 2021 and could be worth up to $63 million if Johnson reaches certain milestones. The contract extension includes $35.5 million guaranteed, which adds up to $61.5 million guaranteed between extensions for Johnson, Ertz and Brent Celek.

Philadelphia has done an excellent job keeping their core pieces with the organization and having key starters for the long-term. Now with Ertz, Celek and Johnson extended, the Eagles can focus their efforts on upcoming free agent Vinny Curry, who could cash in on the open market if Philadelphia isn't able to extend him before then.

Johnson might spend one more season at right tackle before flipping over to the left side when the Eagles eventually part ways with Jason Peters.
