The good news for the Green Bay Packers is that they handed the two-time defending NFC champion Seattle Seahawks a loss on Sunday Night Football.
The bad news is that it didn't come without a major loss. Star running back Eddie Lacy left the game in the first quarter with an ankle injury. Reports at that time indicated that the third-year pro couldn't put any weight on the injured ankle. This led Green Bay to give him X-rays in order to check for any breaks.
As Schefter noted, it's good news that Lacy didn't suffer a broken ankle. Unfortunately, this doesn't mean the powerful running back will be back anytime soon. Depending on the severity of the sprain, he could miss a nice amount of action moving forward.
Backup running back James Starks put up 110-plus total yards in Lacy's stead. If the latter isn't able to go for the foreseeable future, Starks becomes a decent waiver-wire claim.
