Denver Broncos wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders has yet to appear in a preseason game this summer. Out for the past three weeks with a hamstring injury, it appears Sanders will sit out the final two exhibition outings prior to Week 1.
The team doesn't plan on Sanders suiting up this weekend against the San Francisco 49ers. Considering no starters are likely to play in the final preseason game, this means that the veteran will make his debut when real games start.
The concern here for fantasy owners is two-fold.
Denver's passing game has yet to take off under first-year head coach Gary Kubiak. Now utilizing a run-first scheme, targets are not going to be as free-flowing last year, when Sanders put up 101 receptions for over 1,400 yards and nine scores.
More than this, Sanders will obviously be a bit rusty early in the season. Going up against the Baltimore Ravens, Kansas City Chiefs and Detroit Lions in September, that's not exactly good news for the pass catcher.
With an ADP in the third round (12th receiver off the board), this has to be a real concern for those relying on Sanders to be a WR1.
