Don't be Scared off by Peyton Manning
Manning and the Broncos may be going up against a San Francisco 49ers defense that ranks second in the NFL against the pass and has allowed the fourth-fewest fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks. While that might have somewhat of an impact on Manning's performance, he's still going to put up his numbers. That's only magnified by the fact that San Francisco is going to be without All-Pro linebackers Patrick Willis, NaVorro Bowman and Aldon Smith. You might want to look for value a bit further down, but Manning isn't a bad buy as the most-expensive fantasy quarterback at $10,000.
Avoid Drew Brees
As the fifth-most expensive FanDuel quarterback this week, Brees represents absolutely no value against a Lions defense that ranks first in the NFL against the pass and has allowed the fewest fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks. On a normal Sunday, this might not be enough to avoid Brees. But considering that Jimmy Graham is likely going to miss this game, there are much better options out there.
DeMarco Murray is a Splurge Well Spent
It might be all about finding value in DFS, but you still have to acquire that one elite option that you know will perform up to level. With Manning going up against the 49ers, Jimmy Graham out of action and Calvin Johnson still hampered by an ankle injury, Murray has to be that guy this week. The No. 1 overall fantasy running back will be lining up against a New York Giants defense that is allowing the third-most fantasy points to running backs. This is an obvious choice right here.
Wait-and-See Approach with Marshawn Lynch
Going up against a St. Louis Rams defense that has allowed the second-fewest points to fantasy running backs, Lynch is someone you're going to need to continue taking a wait-and-see approach on. While he is the fifth-ranked running back on the season, Lynch hasn't put up triple-digit yards since Week 1 and was effectively taken out of the action against Dallas last week. There are much better value plays at hand here, especially considering Lynch is the fourth-most expensive running back in FanDuel leagues.
Jordy Nelson's Consistency is Hard to Ignore
Not only is Nelson the No. 1 fantasy receiver thus far this season, he has put up 59-plus yards in each of the Packers six games and a touchdown in four of those outings. He's also put up nine or catches four times this year, which is huge as it relates to PPR leagues. At $8,900 and going up against a Carolina Panthers secondary that is giving up the eighth-most fantasy points to receivers, Nelson is a solid upper-echelon buy that will provide you the production you need from a WR1.
