Fantasy Football: A Look at the Biggest Injuries From Week 14

Ryan Tannehill, Quarterback, Miami Dolphins

It was reported Sunday that Tannehill suffered a torn ACL in his team's win over the Arizona Cardinals. Though, Dolphins head coach Adam Gase indicated Monday that Tannehill avoided a complete tear. Instead, he's suffering through sprains to the MCL and ACL. Tannehill himself will be going for a second opinion on Tuesday to see whether he needs surgery.

While this is good news, there's no telling whether Tannehill will play again this season. If not, Matt Moore will be under center for the final three games. That would have a direct impact on Jarvis Landry, who has built a strong relationship with Tannehill.

Aaron Rodgers, Quarterback, Green Bay Packers

Rodgers suffered a calf injury Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks. This might have been one of the primary reasons he was replaced in the lineup by Brett Hundley. Though, Rodgers himself did remain in the game after suffering the injury. He only departed when the Packers built up a four-touchdown fourth quarter lead against Seattle.

All this seems to be an indication that Rodgers will be able to go next week against the Chicago Bears. In fact, the injury itself is reportedly not as bad as the one Rodgers suffered to his calf back in 2014.

Matthew Stafford, Quarterback, Detroit Lions

Stafford suffered a dislocation and torn ligaments to the middle finger of his throwing hand in Sunday's win over Chicago. He remained in the game, leading Detroit to its eighth fourth quarter comeback of the season. Lions head coach Jim Caldwell confirmed on Monday that Stafford will play through the injury.

Matt Forte, Running Back, New York Jets

Forte exited Sunday's win over San Francisco with a knee injury in the first quarter. The running back then admitted to hearing "cracking and popping" to the knee after suffering said injury. Needless to say, he did not return to the game. The veteran will undergo an MRI at some point on Monday to determine the severity of the injury. Bilal Powell took over for Forte, putting up 145 yards and two touchdowns in his stead. Should Forte's injury keep him out for any time, Powell becomes a must add.

Melvin Gordon, Running Back, San Diego Chargers

Gordon suffered a hip injury on Sunday and had to be carted off the field. It looked really bad. Like, season-ending bad. Though, the Chargers now say that Gordon is "good," a clear indication that the injury might not be as severe as first imagined. Gordon will undergo an MRI at some point on Monday.

Wendell Smallwood, Running Back, Philadelphia Eagles

The rookie suffered a sprained MCL in Sunday's loss to the Washington Redskins and is expected to miss some time. Head coach Doug Pederson confirmed as much on Monday. This is bad news for an injury-depleted Eagles running back group.

Darren Sproles, Running Back, Philadelphia Eagles

Sproles exited Sunday's game after a nasty hit on a punt return. He's sad to have suffered a concussion and will now need to pass through the league's protocol. With Smallwood likely out and Ryan Mathews still banged up, the Eagles are running out of options at this position heading into Week 15.
