Fantasy Football: Deep Waiver Recommendations for Week 11

Case Keenum, Quarterback, St. Louis Rams

Here's a shot in the dark. If you exist in a 2QB league or a deeper 18-team version, Keenum might be worth a pick up here. Now that he's replaced an ineffective Nick Foles under center in St. Louis, it will be interesting to see if Keenum can help jump start the league's worst passing offense.

In 10 career starts, Keenum is averaging about 200 passing yards and one touchdown per game. Those aren't numbers indicative of a quarterback ready to make much of an impact. Though, this might be something worth monitoring moving forward.

Jay Ajayi, Running Back, Miami Dolphins

Keep an eye on this rookie from Boise State. In the two games that he's played since returning from short-term injured reserve, Ajayi has put up 11 rushes for 89 yards. While he was out-carried by Lamar Miller 22-6, the rookie actually put up more yards (48) than his counterpart against the Philadelphia Ealges on Sunday.

Some will conclude that all Ajayi's emergence has done is handcuff Miller as a legitimate fantasy option. However, I can easily envision a scenario where interim had coach Dan Campbell decides to utilize Ajayi — the more physical runner — at a higher clip moving forward. If his first two games are any indication, Ajayi is more than up for the task here.

Joique Bell, Running Back, Detroit Lions

Rosterable in 12-team leagues prior to the start of the year, a combination of injuries and ineffectiveness led to him falling off the map big time. After all, Bell put up only 22 yards on 20 attempts in his first three games of the season.

And while Bell is coming off a dreadful 14-rush, 17-yard performance against the Green Bay Packers, there is not a single player in Detroit's backfield doing much in terms of taking over the job. In this, Bell has the past success to give the Lions' staff at least some confidence in him. That makes him an intriguing option in deeper leagues.

David Cobb, Running Back, Tennessee Titans

Without even playing a snap this season, Cobb finds himself as a potential waiver pick up in deeper leagues. The primary reason for this is the lack of any type of success on the ground in Tennessee. Through nine games, the team has a total of less than 900 rushing yards. It doesn't take a genius to realize that's not good.

With Antonio Andrews, Bishop Sankey and Dexter McCluster all providing absolutely no consistency here, the Titans would be smart to give Cobb a chance moving forward. Eligible to play after being activated from short-term IR last week, there's a darn good chance this rookie will get a chance Thursday night against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Chris Givens, Wide Receiver, Baltimore Ravens

With seven receptions on 11 targets over the past two games, this recently acquired receiver seems to have found a nice relationship with Joe Flacco. Considering Steve Smith and rookie Breshad Perriman (who hasn't played this season) are out for the year, someone is going to have to step up next to Kamar Aiken in the Ravens passing game. Why not take a chance on Givens in deeper leagues? The opportunity surely is there for him to succeed.

Garrett Celek, Tight End, San Francisco 49ers

With two touchdowns in Blaine Gabbert's first start back in Week 9, Celek becomes an interesting fantasy play. That performance, coming right before San Francisco's Week 10 bye and immediately after the team traded Vernon Davis, tells us a story of a veteran tight end the 49ers are willing to rely on moving forward. With Gabbert still looking to find his comfort zone in San Francisco, tight end will be one of his safety valves. If tha guy is Celek, the opportunities will definitely be here.
