Contract Details
Bradford played through the final season of his rookie contract without an extension. Though, there was a nice amount of talk that the two sides were working on a long-term deal.
The issue here is that the guy who brought Bradford in from the Rams in a trade last March is currently in San Francisco. That will obviously have an impact on whether the Eagles want to have him back.
What we do know here is that Bradford is asking for a deal north of $15 million annually — a rather large sum for a player that's been average at best throughout his career and is coming off a pedestrian performance in Philadelphia last year.
2015 Season in Review
Throwing 19 touchdowns in 14 starts isn't necessarily an accomplishment in today's NFL. In fact, Bradford threw fewer than two touchdowns in 64 percent of his starts with Philadelphia this past season. He did, however, average a career high 266.1 passing yards per game while averaging career highs in pass attempts and completions.
Bradford's best fantasy performance came in a Week 4 loss to the Washington Redskins. He tallied up 270 passing yards with three touchdowns and zero interceptions in that game. It was good enough for him to rank as the second-best fantasy quarterback for the week.
Outside of that, there isn't much to see here. After failing to put up 15-plus fantasy points in eight of his first 11 starts, Bradford was able to meet that plateau in his final three starts of the season. I guess that's something to hang your hat on should you be relying on him in dyno leagues.
Likeliest Destinations: San Francisco 49ers and Cleveland Browns
The Chip Kelly factor could be alive and well here. Needless to say, San Francisco isn't in the best of positions at quarterback. They could decide to stick with the duo of Colin Kaepernick and Blaine Gabbert while creating a training camp battle for the job.
Kelly could also talk general manager Trent Baalke into bringing Bradford in as an alternative. Though, that would require San Francisco riding itself of the $16-plus million Kaepernick is owed in 2016. It would also force the 49ers to go away from what has been a long, drawn out project in Kaepernick while admitting their mistake.
The interesting thing here is that Bradford's fantasy value would likely increase if he were to land with Kelly in San Francisco. There is talent on that offense, and Kelly's scheme pretty much makes any quarterback a decent rosterable option in re-draft leagues. Even then, there are too many dynamics in place here to consider a Bradford-49ers marriage solid from a fantasy perspective.
