Fantasy Football Impact: Injury Report for Week 1 Early Games

Jamaal Charles, Running Back, Kansas City Chiefs

Charles, who suffered a torn ACL last season, has been ruled out for Week 1 against the San Diego Chargers. This isn't good news for those of you who are relying on him in year-long redrafts, but it does set up an interesting value scenario in DFS contests. With Charles out, Spencer Ware and Charcandrick West figure to split time in the backfield against a lackluster Chargers run defense. Of those two, it appears Ware is going to see a bulk of the action. He's a tremendous under-the-radar play here.

Chris Ivory, Running Back, Jacksonville Jaguars

Ivory, who was dealing wit a calf injury, was admitted into a hospital with a condition completely unrelated to said injury. Questionable to play prior to this news breaking, Ivory is now inactive against the Green Bay Packers. This means T.J. Yeldon will get a bulk of the touches for Jacksonville. Expect a big game from him.

C.J. Spiller, Running Back, New Orleans Saints

Spiller is a healthy inactive for the Saints' season opener against the Oakland Raiders. It's a deep fall from grace for last year's big name signing. It also indicated that New Orleans is expecting Mark Ingram to play the role of a three-down back.

Kevin White, Wide Receiver, Chicago Bears

White missed his entire rookie season with an injury. He's questionable to play Week 1 against the Houston Texans. Though, it now looks like White will be a go.

From a fantasy perspective, there isn't a whole lot to see here. First off, Chicago has a bad matchup against a Texans defense that's among the best in the business. Secondly, this will be White's first meaningful game since January of 2015. He'll also be acting as a secondary receiving option behind Alshon Jeffery

Though, it's definitely a good start for those who have White in dyno leagues. Getting him on to the field is a necessary first step.

Will Fuller, Wide Receiver, Houston Texans

Fuller practiced in full on Friday and is expected to make his regular season NFL debut against the Chicago Bears on Sunday. Not only that, the rookie first-round pick will be in the starting lineup opposite DeAndre Hopkins. With Chicago suffering some major injuries in the secondary, this has the looks of a surprising performance from Fuller. Though, he's not really a threat in DraftKings PPR format as he is in FanDuel.

Dennis Pitta, Tight End, Baltimore Ravens

Pitta is active and will suit up in a regular season NFL game for the first time since September of 2014. He's immediately a decent under-the-radar DFS option with Joe Flacco under center. That's taken to a new level against a Buffalo Bills defense that struggles with coverage between the hashes.

Tyler Eifert, Tight End, Cincinnati Bengals

This shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone. Eifert has not seen the practice field after suffering an ankle injury during the Pro Bowl back in February. As he works his way back, Tyler Kroft remains an under-the-radar DFS play.
