It's pretty amazing what a Pro Bowl running back can accomplish behind a solid offensive line and with a decent passing game, two things that Matt Forte rarely head when he was putting up stellar seasons with the Chicago Bears. 

Now, in his first year with the New York Jets, it's becoming readily apparent that the veteran running back still has something left in the tank. By something, we mean a whole heck of a lot. 

Forte put up 155 yards and a score on 27 touches in his Jets debut last week. That enabled the 30-year-old running back to finish as the 10th-best fantasy running back. 

As if this wasn't enough, Forte put up an encore performance to start NFL's Week 2 slate against the hapless Buffalo Bills on Thursday night. He put up a career-high 32 touches, tallying 109 yards and three touchdowns (also a career high) in the Jets' win. 

This has Forte off to the best start of what has already been a Hall of Fame-worthy career. It also has us wondering whether he simply wasn't valued high enough during the draft process. 

Remember, there were some (most of us) who believed Forte was going to take part in a backfield by committee approach in New York. Through two games, that simply hasn't happened. Forte has put up 59 touches compared to just eight for Bilal Powell. Just think about that for a second. 

If you own Forte and were relying on him as a mere RB2, which his preseason ADP had him valued at, make sure to hold on to the veteran. If you're looking to add a RB1 on the cheap, maybe attempt to trade for him. He's turned into a must own from the ashes of being a has been. That's how much stock we have to put into the first two games. The trends. The ebbs and flows. They are all pointing up for Forte. Buy now, reap the rewards later.
