Fantasy Football: NFL Waiver Wire Adds, Week 12

Brock Osweiler, Quarterback, Denver Broncos

After putting up a tremendous 250-yard, two-touchdown performance against the Chicago Bears on Sunday, it looks as if Osweiler will get the start next week when his Broncos take on the New England Patriots. With Peyton Manning also seeking a second opinion on his injured foot, there is a decent chance Osweiler will be the starter for the foreseeable future.

With games coming up against some bad pass defenses in the San Diego Chargers (twice), Oakland Raiders and Pittsburgh Steelers after next week's outing, Osweiler could very well be a coup for those of you looking for a jump start at the quarterback position heading into the fantasy playoffs.

Johnny Manziel, Quarterback, Cleveland Browns

If you are a bit too far down on the waiver wire pecking order to nab Osweiler, Manziel wouldn't be a bad secondary option. Coming off a career-best 372-yard performance against the Pittsburgh Steelers, Manziel seems to be prepared to continue putting up big numbers.

That's only magnified by the fact that Cleveland is going to do everything possible to see what it has in the second-year quarterback while the two-win team plays out the stretch. That's the only real intrigue remaining in an otherwise disastrous season for the fledgling franchise.

Thomas Rawls, Running Back, Seattle Seahawks

With Marshawn Lynch sidelined due to an abdominal injury Sunday against San Francisco, this un-drafted rookie free agent netted 255 total yards and two touchdowns on a whopping 33 touches.

Now that Lynch is set to see a specialist regarding his injury in Philadelphia this week, there's a decent chance he could be out for some time, if not the remainder of the season.

If that's the case, Rawls becomes the top add on the waiver wire this week. Remember, he tallied over 300 rushing yards in a three-game span earlier this year when Lynch was sidelined to another injury. There's little doubt here that Rawls is prepared to be a top-10 fantasy running back from here on out.

Javorious Allen, Running Back, Baltimore Ravens

Now that Justin Forsett is out for the season, this rookie from USC will get a vast majority of the Ravens' touches from the running back position. At 3-7 on the year and with Joe Flacco also lost for the season (ACL), Baltimore will likely turn to "see what we have" mode when it comes to the offensive side of the ball.

This means that Allen should see 20-plus touches on a consistent basis through the final six games of the campaign. He tallied 115 yards on 27 touches Sunday against a darn good St. Louis Rams defensive front on Sunday. Don't sleep on this dude.

Shaun Draughn, Running Back, San Francisco 49ers

It's quite obvious that San Francisco's plan is to use Draughn as much as possible for the duration of the season. Just over two weeks after siging off the street, Draughn found himself touching the ball 20 times against Seattle, tallying 77 total yards. This came immediately after the veteran put up 96 yards on 20 touches against the Atlanta Falcons back in Week 9.

With Blaine Gabbert slated to start for the hapless 49ers for the remainder of the season, Draughn also becomes a solid PPR option. He's been targeted a ridiculous 16 times in two games, coming down with 12 receptions during that span.

Marvin Jones, Wide Receiver, Cincinnati Bengals

Continually overlooked around the fantasy football world, all Jones has done is prove his skeptics wrong. Having put up four-plus receptions and 40-plus yards in five of his past six games, Jones appears to be hitting his stride after missing all of last season with a foot injury. He's also being targeted an average of seven times in those six games.

As the Bengals continue to look to get the right mix going in the passing game behind A.J. Green and Tyler Eifert, it sure looks like Jones has become Andy Dalton's third favorite target. If so, he's a solid waiver pick up, even in 12-team leagues.

Marquess Wilson, Wide Receiver, Chicago Bears

With both Alshon Jeffery and Eddie Royal sidelined on Sunday, Wilson put up an impressive performance against the league's best secondary. He caught four passes for 102 yards in the Bears narrow loss to Denver.

Depending on how Jeffery and Royal check out during the week, there's a decent chance Wilson could be Cutler's primary target when Chicago takes on the Green Bay Packers Thursday night. Even without being able to speculate here, Wilson might just be worth the risk on the waiver wire.

Kamar Aiken, Wide Receiver, Baltimore Ravens

We have absolutely no idea how Aiken is going to mesh with new Ravens starter Matt Schaub. Though, it's not like the team has many options outside of him at wide receiver with both Steve Smith and Breshad Perriman out for the year.

The fifth-year receiver has been targeted a ridiculous 28 times over the past three games, coming down with 18 catches for 195 yards and a score. He's the only active Ravens receiver with the potential to see double-digit targets on a given day, which makes him — purely from a numbers standpoint — an obvious waiver add.

Note: We will be touching a great deal on the tight end position in our deep-league waiver wire article on Tuesday. There are so many solid options there. Make sure to check that out.
