Fantasy Football: NFL Waiver Wire Adds, Week 15

Ryan Fitzpatrick, Quarterback, New York Jets

Coming off a three-touchdown performance against the Tennessee Titans, Fitzpatrick is playing the best football of his long career. He's now tallied nine touchdowns compared to zero interceptions over the course of the past three games. This has Fitzpatrick as the eighth-best fantasy quarterback heading into Week 15.

With games coming up against the Dallas Cowboys and New England Patriots, the road isn't paved in stone here, at least in terms of his ability to put up large fantasy numbers. It's still rather interesting that he's owned in just 46 percent of Yahoo! leagues heading into the fantasy playoffs (in some leagues).

Brock Osweiler, Quarterback, Denver Broncos

This is more about Osweiler being a solid streaming option in case you had been relying on a now injured Andy Dalton heading into the playoffs. Osweiler is coming off a less-than-stellar performance against the Oakland Raiders and has put up just four touchdowns in as many starts.

Still, the young quarterback has a solid matchup against a Pittsburgh Steelers defense that has yielded the 10th-most fantasy points to quarterbacks on the season. With an ownership percent of under one quarter, he's likely available in your fantasy league. Maybe give it a shot. After all, it's a better decision than going with A.J. McCarron

Bilal Powell, Running Back, New York Jets

With eight-plus touches and/or 80-plus yards in each of his past four games, Powell is becoming a consistent option in the Jets backfield behind Chris Ivory. On Sunday alone, Powell put up 82 yards and a touchdown on just eight touches.

While it's a bit worrisome to consider picking up a backup running back, Powell is a legitimate FLEX option in PPR-heavy leagues. He has recorded 23 receptions for 211 yards over the course of the past four games. If you are able to get that type of production from a FLEX, that's nothing to overlook.

Tim Hightower, Running Back, New Orleans Saints

This is insane. Out of the league since 2011, Hightower was signed off the street early last month after backup Saints running back Khiry Robinson was lost for the season. With Mark Ingram now also lost for the year, Hightower has overtaken C.J. Spiller as the Saints primary ball carrier.

On Sunday alone, Hightower put up 95 yards and a touchdown on a whopping 29 touches. Considering that came against a Tampa Bay Buccaneers team that was in the top-10 of the NFL in terms of fantasy points allowed to running backs, it's an impressive accomplishment. After all, Hightower finished Sunday as the seventh-best fantasy running back.

With games coming up against a Detroit Lions defense that ranks in the middle of the pack versus fantasy running backs and a Jacksonville Jaguars defense that is in the bottom 13 in this category, Hightower becomes a streaming option moving forward.

DuJuan Harris, Running Back, Seattle Seahawks

Remember when this guy was the toast of the town in Green Bay for about 10 minutes a few years back? Well, it appears that Harris will now be given another chance to be a primary ball carrier. Thomas Rawls suffered a fractured ankle in the team's win over the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday and is out for the year. With Marshawn Lynch still sidelined indefinitely, Harris is the last man standing here.

The Packers castoff put up just 42 yards on 18 touches in replacement of Rawls on Sunday. That's not necessarily a good sign.

However, Seattle will be taking on a Cleveland Browns defense that has been disastrous against the run this season. That makes him a solid streaming option next week. That's also magnified by the fact that Seattle made it clear Fred Jackson won't play a huge role in the team's offense moving forward.

Theo Riddick, Running Back, Detroit Lions

PPR. Say it with me again — PPR. With seven more catches against the St. Louis Rams on Sunday, Riddick has now racked up a whopping 67 receptions in 13 games this season, including 22 receptions on 24 targets over the past four games.

The interesting thing here is that Riddick has only attempted 12 runs during this four-game span.

While that might force some to avoid Riddick, his ability to put up a massive amount of production in the receiving game more than makes up for what he's missing on the ground.

With games coming up against two bad run defenses in the San Francisco 49ers and New Orleans Saints, Riddick should put up some solid numbers over the next two weeks.

Willie Snead, Wide Receiver, New Orleans Saints

With seven receptions for 122 yards on eight targets Sunday against Tampa Bay, Snead once again made his name known in the fantasy community. This comes after the second-year receiver put up a total of four catches for 50 yards over the past two games.

Remember, Snead was one of the biggest surprises for the first half of the NFL season, putting up 41 receptions for 626 yards in the Saints first eight games.

Now that Snead appears to be fully recovered from a calf injury, he should continue to put up some strong numbers moving forward this season. Owned in just 45 percent of Yahoo! leagues, Snead is a must pick up on the waiver wire.

Tyler Lockett, Wide Receiver, Seattle Seahawks

How's this for coming out of nowhere? Lockett, one of the most-dazzling preseason performers, had not played much of a role in Seattle's offense in the first 12 weeks of the season. In fact, he tallied just 28 receptions in the first 11 games.

Following up a seven-reception performance against the Minnesota Vikings last week, Lockett was Seattle's most-targeted receiver on Sunday against Baltimore. He caught six of the seven passes thrown in his direction for 104 yards and two touchdowns.

With the way Russell Wilson is playing right now, you are going to want to pick up the scraps, not that Lockett himself is simply nothing more than a scrap.

Zach Miller, Tight End, Chicago Bears

With Martellus Bennett lost for the season, we recommended Miller as a value play this week in DFS contests. Boy did he deliver. The veteran put up five receptions for 85 yards and a touchdown on six targets against the Washington Redskins. He's now put up five touchdowns over the past six games.

There's no logical reason to avoid Miller on the waiver wire if you are struggling at the tight end position heading into the latter part of the fantasy season. He's simply too good to pass up on right now.
