Fantasy Football Week 7: Running Back Start/Sit

RB Start/Sit

START

CJ Spiller or Fred Jackson, BUF vs TEN
Spiller is practically a must start versus any team at this point. Jackson is someone who will (fingers crossed) pushed out of the offense in the near future. This matchup is such a great matchup that both players could earn a spot on a starting lineup. If bye week woes are looking tough then plug them both in. Spiller is a low-end RB1 and Jackson RB2

Doug Martin, TB vs NO
New Orleans was gashed by Mathews before their bye last week. Look for Martin to get back on track versus the Saints weak run defense. Don’t be wary of Blount, Martin is the primary back and will continue to learn and grow. Start Martin as a RB2 with upside.

Stevan Ridley, NE vs NYJ
Ridley has had a crazy, unpredictable season where you never really know which Brady Bunch is going to show up, the Dynasty football team from the North East or the family from the ‘80s. Ridley is coming off of his worst game, but that could have been predictable when playing against Seattle’s up and coming elite defense. Ridley faces the Jets 24th ranked run defense at home this week. Look for the Dynasty football team from the North East to show up this and Ridley to be a major part of it.

SIT

Mikel Leshoure, DET vs CHI
Leshoure looked to be the savior of your team when you cleverly stashed him a week or two before he was reinstated. He still can be—if you trade him. Leshoure plays Chicago this week; Seattle next week. In two weeks he should have little value then he plays has a pretty tough schedule for the remainder of the season with only three good matchups remaining. Try to trade him ASAP and if you can’t, don’t look for him to produce many points for you in the next couple weeks.

Shonn Greene, NYJ vs NE
Green has a great game last week running for 161 yards and 3 scores. He looked fast, he looked strong he looked… he really just looked like Shonn Greene playing the Indianapolis Colts bad run defense. He ran like he’s supposed to and what you drafted him to be and had a career game against a very bad run defense. This week, slide him back on the bench (or leave him there) as he faces the Patriots revamped sixth ranked run defense who has only allowed Ray Rice to have a good game so far this season.

Not buying it

Matt Forte, CHI vs DET- Detroit’s top five run D is not for-real. Start him normally, but not with astronomical expectations.

Marshawn Lynch & Frank Gore, SF vs SEA- This is going to be more of a battle than a football game. Neither player will have an explosive game but the teams realize they will have to win the game on the ground. Also, it’s hard to sit your studs.

Felix Jones, DAL vs CAR- Dallas has a horrible offensive line and Jones had the back field to himself most of last year and wasn’t productive. Carolina’s run defense might not be quite as bad as everyone suspects. I wouldn’t be jumping all over the “waiver pick up of the week”
