There really isn't a huge sample size here. Think about this for a second. Derrick Henry, selected in the second round by the Tennessee Titans, had more rush attempts in his final six games at Alabama than Prosise had his entire career at Notre Dame.

A four-star Scout.com recruit as a safety, Prosise began his career with the Irish as a wide receiver, sitting out his first season as a redshirt. In a part-time role the following season, Prosise found himself behind the likes of Will Fuller and Chris Brown on the depth chart. This led him to catching just sven passes while playing primarily on special teams.

It was after the 2014 season that Notre Dame decided to move Prosise to running back. After an early-season injury to Tarean Folston, he took over the starting job and didn't look back.

Despite the lack of experience at running back, Prosise compiled over 1,300 total yards and 12 scores in 2015. His big breakthrough came early in the season when he put up 502 rushing yards and six scores on the ground in a three-game span against Virginia, Georgia Tech and Massachusetts. Though, Prosise struggled later in the year, putting up just 97 yards in the final three games before being lost for the season (and his career) to injury.

Scouting Report

Strengths: Plus-level athleticism (4.48 40-yard at the Combine) coupled with patience in the backfield is huge for Prosise. That latter point is rather interesting considering he has only one year of experience as a running back. At 6-foot and 220 pounds, Prosise also boasts the frame to be an every-down running back in the NFL. Runs with a low pad level, can catch the ball out of the backfield (former WR) and does a tremendous job finishing his runs.

Weaknesses: Five fumbles in 157 carries last year. That comes with inexperience, but he's going to need to do a better job handling the rock. Needs to do a better job hitting the hole, as he tends to be a bit too patient waiting for blocks. Pass protection is also a major issue here.

2016 Outlook

Prosise has a real opportunity to make a major impact as a rookie. With the retirement of Marshawn Lynch and injury to last year's surprise rookie, Thomas Rawls, Seattle's running back situation is unsettled. That's one of the primary reasons the team took three players at this position in the draft.

The former Golden Domer isn't necessarily that down-hill running back that Lynch was, but his ability to pick up tough yards between the tackles makes him a solid fit for Seattle's offense.

Based on Rawls production last season as an un-drafted rookie free agent, it seems that Seattle's blocking scheme under offensive line coach Tom Cable helps get the most from this position. In this, Prosise could very well be a huge fantasy sleeper should he see substantial action as a rookie. While not necessarily a drafteable commodity in standard 12-team leagues, it will be intereresting to see Prosise in action early in the year. He could very well be a high-upside early-season waiver-wire add.

Dynasty Outlook

It's really good. While Rawls has to be considered the wild-card here, we have absolutely no idea how he's going to return from that terrible foot injury he suffered a season ago. Prosise's lack of experience and own injury history aside, he seems to be a perfect fit in Seattle's scheme. Add in PPR value out of the backfield, and there's real upside to be had here.

At this point, I would have Prosise as the ninth overall pick in rookie pool drafts. That's how high his ceiling is in Seattle. Though, don't expect huge top-10 running back production out of the gate. This is going to take experience at running back in the NFL.
