Fantasy Football Slant: Key Inactives for Week 2

Reggie Bush, Running Back San Francisco 49ers

This doesn't do a whole bunch. At the very least, it means that rookie running back Mike Davis will be active against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Outside of that, expect Carlos Hyde to put up 20-plus attempts after a stellar Week 1 performance.

Andre Ellington, Running Back, Arizona Cardinals

With Ellington inactive, the expectation here has to be that Chris Johnson will get a majority of the carries against the Chicago Bears. Expect David Johnson to play an importalt role as well. However, neither can be considered start options this week.

Alshon Jeffery, Wide Receiver, Chicago Bears

With Jeffery out (hamsting), the Bears are really thin at wide receiver, Eddie Royal should see substantial action against Arizona, but the expectation has to be that tight end Martellus Bennett will receive an major increase in targets, especially against a Cardinals team that has struggled against tight ends over the past couple seasons.

James White, Running Back, New England Patriots

This isn't much of a surprise. We now know where White stands on the Patriots depth chart, and it's not good. WIth LeGarrette Blount active and Dion Lewis coming off a solid performance, White's now the team's No. 4 running back. Travaris Cadet is active for the first time this year.

Josh McCown, Quarterback, Cleveland Browns

We all saw this coming. McCown is inactive against the Tennessee Titans with a concussion, meaning that Johnny Manziel will start. Manziel represents a sneaky play in DFS leagues.

Victor Cruz, Wide Receiver, New York Giants

For the second consecutive games to start the season, Cruz is inactive for the Giants. With the former Pro Bowler out, Rueben Randle will get the start and receive more targets opposite Odell Beckham Jr.

DeSean Jackson, Wide Receiver, Washington Redskins

With Jackson inactive this week (and likely a few more), the focus turns to potential PPR stud Pierre Garcon, who caught six passes for 74 yards against the Miami Dolphins. The injury-plagued but talented Jordan Reed also becomes a solid TE1 option in Jackson's absence.
