Tony Romo, Quarterback, Dallas Cowboys
Let’s put the bad Romo we all saw fail awfully on Thanksgiving behind us and take a look at him in Week 14. This Thursday has Romo facing a horrible Bears’ defense who have surrendered the second most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks over the course of the season. Giving up 27 passing touchdowns in 12 games has the Bears sitting at the bottom of the barrel in preventing quarterbacks from scoring against their defense. Considering Romo has one of the best wide receivers in the NFL Dez Bryant at his disposal, he looks like a fabulous sleeper to help advance your fantasy team towards the playoffs in Week 14.
Odell Beckham Jr., Wide Receiver, New York Giants
The Giants’ star rookie wide receiver was a bit quiet last week, however, he has the opportunity to wake up and give another outstanding performance facing the Tennessee Titans in Week 14. During the last two weeks, the Titans have been just awful in containing wide receivers. They’ve allowed 508 receiving yards and three touchdowns escape to their opposition in their last two games. Just look at the havoc Texans’ wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins caused in Tennessee last week with 238 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Beckham shouldn’t have any trouble scoring and reigning in the fantasy points in such an optimal setting.
Jarvis Landry, Wide Receiver, Miami Dolphins
Landry has been seeing an increased number of targets over his past two games which he has turned into 15 catches and two touchdowns. While he didn’t put up the most ideal fantasy numbers last week, Landry should improve in Week 14 when the Dolphins face the Baltimore Ravens. Over their last two games, the Ravens’ secondary has allowed opposing wide receivers nearly 43 fantasy points and 285 receiving yards per game. Being quarterback Ryan Tannehill’s No. 1 target in this favorable matchup definitely puts Landry in the position to reward his fantasy owners generously in Week 14.
Jonathan Stewart, Running Back, Carolina Panthers
Stewart is definitely not a guy you trust to start each week, however Week 14 has the Carolina Panthers playing against the New Orleans Saints, which boosts Stewart’s fantasy value this week. The Saints over their last four games have let opposing running backs completely roam wild. Giving up an average of 212 total yards and 28 fantasy points per game certainly should catch the attention of Stewart owners who are on the fence about starting him in Week 14. With fellow back DeAngelo Williams sidelined for a hand injury, Stewart should see lots of touches and makes a great sleeper option to sneak into your fantasy lineup this week.
Frank Gore, Running Back, San Francisco 49ers
Gore has been a major disappointment to his fantasy owners as of late. But Week 14 could wake up a sleepy Gore and see him come to life in a Week 14 matchup against the Oakland Raiders. Over their last two games the Raiders have allowed a generous 5.4 yards per carry, and the second-most fantasy points of 29.1 per week to opposing running backs. The 49ers have been struggling offensively, however they’ve got the prime opportunity to turn things around against the Raiders who went scoreless last week. Ideally, there should be plenty of opportunities for Gore to run the ball and dig himself out of the fantasy hole he has been buried in.
Bishop Sankey, Running Back, Tennessee Titans
Sankey makes a sneaky sleeper option this week in an enticing matchup against the New York Giants. Even with his carries split, Sankey saw nine last week, which presents just the perfect opportunity to take advantage of a Giants’ defense currently giving up 5.34 yards per carry over their last four games. Allowing four rushing scores during this same period along with giving up the fifth-most fantasy points to running backs sets the scene for Sankey to be trusted in a flex with possible RB2 upside in Week 14.
Travis Kelce, Tight End, Kansas City Chiefs
Not exactly exciting his fantasy owners is Kelce who has been a major frustration the past several weeks. Look for Kelce to spice things up in Week 14, though, against an Arizona Cardinals defense whose weakest spot is defending the tight end position. Over the course of the season, the Cardinals have let tight ends dominate and have allowed the fourth most yardage to the position. With quarterback Alex Smith turning a blind eye to his wide receivers and favoring his tight ends, Kelce could certainly turn one of his catches into a touchdown against a suspect Cardinals defense in Week 14.
