Fantasy Football Week 1: Allen Hurns Opens Season as Jaguars No. 4 Receiver

One year removed from putting up over 1,000 yards and finishing as a top end WR2 option, Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Allen Hurns has fallen out of favor big time.

Hurns played in just one preseason game and was a healthy scratch for the team's three other exhibition outings. This comes on the heels of him struggling to do anything of substance with Blake Bortles' regressing a great deal last season. In fact Hurns put up just 35 receptions for 477 yards while catching less than 50 percent of the passes thrown in his direction.

Now, it looks like Hurns has fallen out of favor even more. He enters the regular season as Jacksonville's No. 4 wide receiver, behind Allen Robinson, Keelan Cole and Dede Westbrook.

The Jaguars attempted to trade Hurns during the preseason, but his relatively lofty four-year, $40.7 million deal made that a reach.

The Jaguars' passing attack promises to be a black hole in the fantasy football world. Bortles was briefly benched for veteran Chad Hanna during the preseason, only to regain his starting job entering Week 1. With him tossing the rock, it's highly questionable to rely on any pass catchers to put up solid statistical performances in 2017. That obviously includes Hurns, who is now not relevant from a fake football perspective.
