Fantasy Football Week 3: Most Impactful Injuries

Terrance West, Running Back, Baltimore Ravens

West was not at practice on Wednesday after suffering a thigh injury in Week 2. His status for Sunday's game against the Jaguars is up in the air. But we'd call him more doubtful than questionable at this point. Despite being the Ravens' starter, West has been outouched by Buck Allen to the tune of 40-29 in two games. Allen is obviously a waiver add possibility if he hasn't already been picked up.

Jordan Howard, Running Back, Chicago Bears

While Howard was able to go in Week 2 against Tampa Bay, he was limited to just nine rushing attempts. A Pro Bowler as a rookie last season, Howard was later seen with his arm in a sling. It will be interesting to see the Bears' practice report moving forward. Though, rookie Tarik Cohen stands to benefit from Howard's continued injury issues.

John Brown, Wide Receiver, Arizona Cardinals

Dealing with a quad injury, Brown did not play in Arizona's Week 2 win over Indianapolis. He wasn't at practice on Wednesday and is considered week-to-week. This comes after he put up four catches on one targets in Week 1. With Brown out of action, expect J.J. Nelson to continue playing a larger role. Nelson recorded five catches for 120 yards and a touchdown on seven targets last week.

Kelvin Benjamin, Wide Receiver, Carolina Panthers

Benjamin was limited in Wednesday's practice with a rib and knee injury. But he's expected to play Sunday against the New Orleans Saints. That's big news for Carolina, especially given that Greg Olsen was just placed on IR. Benjamin has caught just 7-of-13 targets for 102 yards in two games. Expect a get-right outing for him against a horrible Saints pass defense this week.

Tyler Eifert, Tight End, Cincinnati Bengals

Eifert is not expect to play Sunday against Green Bay after suffering through back and knee injuries. He was limited in the team's Week 2 loss to the Houston Texans. With Eifert out of action, we're expecting Tyler Kroft to play a larger role this week. Though, with one catch on the season, he's not fantasy relevant.

Jordy Nelson, Wide Receiver, Green Bay Packers

After leaving early in Sunday night's loss to the Falcons, Nelson is considered 50-50 to play this week against the hapless Bengals. He has yet to take to the practice field as of mid-week, which should be considered a bit alarming. If Nelson is unable to go, Randall Cobb and Davante Adams will see an uptick in targets. For his part, Cobb is considered on the probably side after he suffered an injury last week.

Jarvis Landry, Wide Receiver, Miami Dolphins

Landry suffered a knee injury in his regular season debut on Sunday and was not seen at practice on Wednesday. There's really no other information available on the extent of the injury. Unfortunately, this could force him to miss Week 2's game against the New York Jets after he tallied 13 catches on 15 targets in Week 2. If he's out, both DeVante Parker and Kenny Stills will move up a notch.

Sam Bradford, Quarterback, Minnesota Vikings

Bradford should be considered more on the probable side after missing last week's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers with a knee injury. The quarterback said it all depends on how his knee responds to practice. If Bradford is able to go, Stefon Diggs again becomes a solid fantasy start after struggling with Case Keenan under center last week.

Danny Amendola, Wide Receiver, New England Patriots

After missing last week's game with a concussion, Amendola has returned to practice and will undoubtedly play Sunday against the Texans. Considering he put up six catches for 100 yards on seven targets, Amendola is an obvious fantasy play.

Rob Gronkowski, Tight End, New England Patriots

Much like Amendola, Gronkowski will likely play Sunday against Houston. He left last weeks game with a groin injury after catching the 69th touchdown pass of his career. With Gronkowski in the mix, he's a TE1 this week.
