Note: These rankings were done prior to Monday night’s game between the Patriots and Chiefs.
1. Peyton Manning, Denver Broncos (ARI)
Even with a bye week, Manning is still the 10th rated quarterback in fantasy. He is staying home in Denver for this game, against a formidable Arizona defense, but Manning will still put up Manning-like numbers. He’s matchup proof.
Projected Statistics: 390 yards, four touchdowns
2. Drew Brees, New Orleans Saints (TB)
Despite Gerald McCoy coming back (with a clubbed hand) Tampa Bay’s defense had a tough time covering Antonio Brown and the rest of Pittsburgh’s receivers in an upset victory on Sunday. Brees also struggled against a Cowboys defense that was projected to be one of the worst in the league coming into this season. Still, Brees will be home this weekend, and he’s a much better quarterback inside the Superdome than he is out of it.
Projected Statistics: 350 yards, four touchdowns
3. Aaron Rodgers, Green Bay Packers (MIN)

Packers fans can finally relax. Rodgers went off against the Chicago Bears in a blowout, and Jordy Nelson is making a case to be the No. 1 wide receiver in football. Minnesota’s defense is tough, but it’s certainly not impenetrable. Rodgers will continue his success from Week 4.
Projected Statistics: 350 yards, three touchdowns
4. Matt Ryan, Atlanta Falcons (NYG)
Don’t let Kirk Cousins’ four interceptions from Thursday night convince you that the Giants are a tough defense. Prince Amukamara is having a great year so far, but three of Cousins’ picks were totally on him. Julio Jones and Roddy White continue to dominate, basically guaranteeing Ryan 300 yards each game.
Projected Statistics: 330 yards, three touchdowns
5. Andrew Luck, Indianapolis Colts (BAL)
Jimmy Smith has performed surprisingly well for the Ravens, but other than Smith, the secondary in Baltimore is certainly flawed. Kelvin Benjamin was able to take advantage of it, and Reggie Wayne and T.Y. Hilton should have even better days. Luck is also the best fantasy quarterback through four weeks, and he’s ahead of Ryan by 20 points.
Projected Statistics: 300 yards, three touchdowns
6. Matthew Stafford, Detroit Lions (BUF)
The decline of Buffalo’s season has begun. Corey Graham, who has been Buffalo’s best pass defender this far, hardly played against the Houston Texans, and E.J. Manuel has been benched in favor of Kyle Orton. The Bills aren’t going to play well in this game all-around, and the Lions will be win for a blowout win.
Projected Statistics: 260 yards, three touchdowns
7. Russell Wilson, Seattle Seahawks (WSH)
Coming off of a bye, Wilson and the Seahawks are facing a reeling Washington team that was dismantled on Thursday night. Frankly, there’s no telling which version of Washington we’ll get, either. It could be the high-powered offense that will keep up with Seattle, or the defense that allowed four touchdowns to Eli Manning. My guess is the offense will take a slight step forward, but the defense will continue to struggle, opening up the field for Wilson.
Projected Statistics: 260 yards, two touchdowns, four carries, 40 rushing yards
8. Philip Rivers, San Diego Chargers (NYJ)
Rivers is once again having a career year, and San Diego’s offense will continue to hum along against a terrible Jets secondary. Stafford had 22 fantasy points against New York this weekend, and Rivers should have a very similar, if not better, day. Keenan Allen, Eddie Royal and Malcom Floyd are all performing well so far, and the Chargers offense looks like one of the five best in the league.
Projected Statistics: 280 yards, three touchdowns, one interception
9. Colin Kaepernick, San Francisco 49ers (KC)
Kaepernick has yet to have a dominant fantasy performance, but he’s still performing well enough to be an every-week starter. This could be the week that he gets it done through the air on the ground, against a Kansas City team that isn’t particularly strong anywhere on defense. Frank Gore found his groove again against the Eagles on Sunday, so I expect the 49ers to start running it more, but Kaepernick will have one or two big runs against a hindered Chiefs front seven to boost his value this week.
Projected Statistics: 250 yards, two touchdowns, four carries, 25 rushing yards
10. Nick Foles, Philadelphia Eagles (STL)
Foles’ fantasy value would be much better if it wasn’t for his four interceptions, but with Philadelphia’s offensive line decimated by injuries, he is taking far more hits than last season. Still, Foles has been airing it out to Jeremy Maclin, and without LeSean McCoy clicking in the running game, Foles will be throwing it a ton against the Rams.
Projected Statistics: 330 yards, two touchdowns, one interception
