Fantasy Football Week Three: Start These Three Quarterbacks

All three of theese quarterbacks are starters in standard fantasy leagues, but that isn't going to stop me from recommending that you start these three and don't look back. Well, I guess it could be logically stated that Robert Griffin III isn't a true QB1 option at this point. Let that supposed logic stick in the back of your head like the demons that suggested you take Chris Johnson in the first round because RGIII is definitely a stud fantasy option.

Without further ado, I present to you my weekly feature indicating three quarterbacks that you should DEFINITELY start heading into the third week of the regular season.

Robert Griffin III, Washington Redskins

The Cincinnati Bengals gave up over 320 passing yards and a quarterback rating of 114.9 to Brandon Weeden last week. Okay, that is pretty damn bad..Even for a Bengals’ secondary that remains nothing more than pedestrian at this point in the season.

Leon Hall and Dre Kirkpatrick did not practice for Cincinnati on Thursday. This will most likely leave the starting cornerback jobs up to Nate Clements and Terence Newman...Ouch!!

Adding more fuel to the fire is the fact that RGIII has accounted for 650 yards and five touchdowns in his first two NFL games for Washington. In short, there is absolutely no reason to believe that the second overall pick from April’s draft cannot accumulate 350 total yards and two scores Sunday. Solid QB1 numbers right there.

Tony Romo, Dallas Cowboys

You don’t give up over 500 passing yards, including 200-plus in the fourth quarter unless your secondary is absolutely putrid. Seriously, we are not talking about Florida State taking on Savannah State here, are we? No, this is the freaking NFL people, supposedly the highest level of football you will see. I guess the Tampa Bay Buccaneers just didn’t get the memo. Maybe they were waiting for a telegram or something indicating that the forward pass was legalized.

Either way, Romo is going to light up Tampa’s secondary at home on Sunday afternoon. He is coming off a disastrous performance against the Seattle Seahawks and will rebound in a big way. We could even be looking at a 400 yard passing day here.

Drew Brees, New Orleans Saints

Why not? How long can we actually pretend Brees isn’t an elite quarterback? While the future Hall of Famer has not performed up to level in the Saints’ first two games, you can definitely expect him to rebound against a Kansas City Chiefs defense that is yielding a 130.2 rating to opposing quarterbacks.
Brees will have time to pass, he will be able to pick apart an under performing secondary. I could care less if Brandon Flowers is returning after missing the first two weeks of the season for Kansas City. They just don’t seem to have the necessary personnel to stop a Saints’ passing game that has to be pretty darn pissed off after starting 0-2.
