Wide Receiver
START
Dwayne Bowe, KC vs TB
Bowe owners might have panicked at little when Castle went down, but don’t fret—just yet. Quinn is by no means an upgrade but a bad Tampa Bay pass defense just got worse. Top cornerback Aquib Talib was just suspended for the use of Adderall http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/8499189/aqib-talib-tampa-bay-buccaneers-suspended-four-games-using-adderall. Bowe caught a break for this week, start him with little resistance as a WR2.
Julio Jones(vs OAK), Roddy White(also, vs OAK), Larry Fitzgerald (vs BUF) and Percy Harvin (vs WAS)
All four receivers could be considered top five fantasy receivers and should rarely be benched. This week is no exception; none of these players should be on your bench for almost any reason. I suppose if you were in a two-team only starting one receiver type of league would be the exception.
Michael Crabtree, SF vs NYG
Crabtree is finally starting to connect well with quarterback Alex Smith. His numbers are beginning to look a little more consistent and should remain on the upward climb. This week’s matchup versus the giants is an opportunity to step up in a big game against a mediocre pass defense. Start Crabtree as a Low-Mid end WR2.
SIT
Torrey Smith, BAL vs DAL
Smith is enjoying a solid sophomore year where he is currently tied with Julio Jones as the 11th highest scoring receiver (standard ESPN scoring.) Dallas’ pass defense is one of the better because of new cornerbacks Morris Claiborne and Brandon Carr, who should be tight on Smith all game. Smith is only a high upside WR3 in week 6.
Vincent Jackson, TB vs KC
Jackson faces a longtime foe, Brandon Flowers. Flowers has one this matchup since week 7 in 2009, holding Jackson to no more than 6.4 fantasy point in the last four games against each other. Continuing his up/down, boom/bust season—look for Jackson to bust this week, look elsewhere for a safer player this week.
