Fantasy Impact of Arian Foster's Retirement Announcement

Miami Dolphins running back Arian Foster shocked the football world by announcing his retirement from the NFL on Monday. The announcement came via ESPN's Undisputed as Foster cited his injury history as the reason for retirement.

The Houston Texans' all-time leading rusher, Foster was unable to stay healthy in his first season with the Dolphins, posting 55 rushing yards on 22 attempts.

From a fantasy perspective, this is a clear indication that second-year running back Jay Ajayi will continue to see a vast majority of Miami's rush attempts moving forward on the season.

Ajayi is coming off his second consecutive 200-plus yard rushing outings and has tallied 418 rushing yards and three touchdowns during that span.

There's no way Ajayi will keep up that pace moving forward. What we do know is that he'll continue to see 20-plus touches per game. That will make Ajayi a fantasy stud as the season progresses.
