In a season where seemingly nothing goes right and every key piece on its offense gets injured, the Green Bay Packers lost another started on offense this weekend. Running back Aaron Jones, who left Sunday’s game on a cart, will miss the next three-to-six weeks with an MCL sprain.
The loss of Jones serves as a blow for a Packers’ offense that is in desperate need of a reliable running game. On 70 carries this season, the rookie running back averaged 5.3 yards per carry and showed promising signs of being Green Bay’s featured back on the future.
Green Bay also saw running back Ty Montgomery, the team’s starter to begin the season, leave Sunday’s game with a rib injury and his status for Week 11 is uncertain.
As a result, fantasy owners must turn their attention to rookie running back Jamaal Williams. After Jones and Montgomery went down. Williams saw a heavy workload. Williams finished the game with 20 rushing attempts, 16 more than his previous season-high workload, for 67 rushing yards. Green Bay’s lead allowed the team to keep feeding him the ball and he averaged 3.4 yards per carry.
if Williams is the lead running back in Green Bay for the energy future, he is the top waiver wire Target this week. Unfortunately for Fantasy owners, next week’s matchup against a Baltimore Ravens defense that kept each of its opponents under 80 rushing yards in the past two weeks. As a result, Williams is not someone Fantasy owners should invest more than 30 percent of their FAAB on this week.
