Fantasy Impact: Rams WR Robert Woods Expected to Return in Week 15

While the Los Angeles Rams won't get wide receiver Robert Woods back this week, the end of the week provided great news for the team, fan base and Woods. The 25-year-old, who suffered a shoulder injury on Nov. 19 against the Minnesota Vikings, returned to practice for the first time on Friday.

The team listed Woods as questionable for Sunday's game against the Philadelphia Eagles, but he will not suit up on Sunday. Even with his familiarity of this offense and Woods' ability to run full speed, one day of practice just isn't enough after missing consecutive games.

When Woods returns to the field, his positive impacts will be felt immediately. He leads the team in receiving yards (703), 20-plus yard plays (12) and is second in targets (70) and touchdowns (four). His role in the offense continued to grow as time went and a chemistry with Jared Goff developed. In his past six games, Woods averaged nine targets per game and recorded 59-plus receiving yards in each of the game.

Woods past two games especially stand out when looking at his role in the offense. In his expanded role, Woods saw 21 targets and hauled in 16 passes for 252 yards and two touchdowns. He locked himself in as a WR2 in fantasy leagues and his loss served as a major blow for fantasy owners.

When Woods returns to the field next week against the Seattle Seahawks, he will return as a WR2 across all league formats. It will serve as a major boost for fantasy owners, even with the fairly tough matchup.
