Fantasy Slant: Broncos Sign RB Jamaal Charles

The Denver Broncos have reportedly added veteran competition for C.J. Anderson and Devontae Booker. According to multiple media reports, Denver has signed former Pro Bowler Jamaal Charles away from the division-rival Kansas City Chiefs on a two-year conttract.

Charles, 30, was released  by Kansas City back in March after missing a combined 27 games over the past two seasons with multiple injuries, including an ACL tear he suffered back in 2015. Prior to that, the four-time Pro Bowler was coming off a three-year span that saw him put up over 5,000 total yards with 39 touchdowns.

Consideirng Charles' recent injury history, it's hard to consider him a rosterable option in standard 12-team re-draft leagues. We're going to want to see if he can remain healthy out of the gate and just how Denver decides to use him with Anderson as well as Booker returning from last season's team.

What we do know here is that Charles' presence in Denver handcuffs Anderson a great deal — making the Broncos' running back situation a fantasy black hole until things are sorted in-season.
