Despite missing the final eight games of last season with a kidney laceration, the San Diego Chargers have rewarded the team's top receiver Keenan Allen with a four-year contract extension at over $11 million per season.
Allen, 24, recorded 67 receptions for 725 yards and four touchdowns in eight games prior to suffering the aforementioned injury this past season. He also caught a ridiculous 75 percent of the balls thrown in his direction from Philip Rivers.
This extension bodes well for Allen's dynasty outlook moving forward. He's the No. 1 receiver on an offense that topped the rankings when he was on the field last season. He put up 1,000-plus yards as a rookie back in 2013, and likely would have finished this past season as a top-three fantasy receiver had he not been injured.
Instead of testing the free-agent waters and potentially ending up in a less-than-stellar situation, Allen will now be catching passes from Rivers for at least the next four seasons. His fantasy owners can rejoice.
