Fantasy Slant: Ravens RB Alex Collins to Receive More Touches

After a few additional off days following the team’s dominating win on Thursday Night Football, Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh delivered news many were hoping for today. Running back Alex Collins, who exploded for 143 total yards against the Miami Dolphins, will see more touches moving forward.

The expanded workload is deserved for a young running back who thus far has shined when ever the team gave him opportunities. On 80 carries this season, Collins averaged six yards per carry through the team’s first seven games. Thursday represented the second time Baltimore handed Collins the ball 15-plus times and he rewarded them well in both of those games.

While Buck Allen will continue to serve as Baltimore’s third-down back, Collins is the workhorse of Baltimore’s running game and even behind a shaky offensive line, must be in the fantasy equation every week. His talent and ability to elude defenders while constantly gaining positive chunks of yards, easily makes him an RB2 going forward,

If Collins is still available in your leagues, rush to pick him up on the waiver wire. As for Allen, his declining role and limited big-play ability in the passing game now makes him droppable.
