Fantasy sports owners the world over are freaking out right about now. Just as it appeared that Washington Redskins tight end Jordan Reed was on the verge of overcoming his previous injury issues, the team announced on Wednesday that he will open camp on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list.
It's not yet known what is ailing Reed, but he dealt with shoulder and concussion issues in missing four games last season. Despite this, the 27-year-old tight end was still able to put up 66 receptions for 686 yards and six touchdowns. This enabled him to finish ninth among tight ends in fantasy points. It also came on the heels of a 2016 campaign in which Reed finished third in that category.
The issue here is tht he's missed 28 percent of his team's games during his fourh-year career in the NFL.
While Washington can take Reed off the PUP list at any point during camp, this is definitely something to keep an eye on over the next several days. He's being relied on as a top-three fantasy tight end in terms of ADP during the summer.
