Fantasy Slant: Steelers Make Antonio Brown Highest Paid Wide Receiver

The Pittsburgh Steelers awarded Antonio Brown's career-long excellence by signing him to a four-year, $68 million contract extension, making him the highest-paid wide receiver in the NFL. He surpasses A.J. Green's $15 million per year average.

Brown, 28, has been the most-productive receiver in the NFL over the past four seasons, averaging 120 receptions for 1,578 yards and 10 touchdowns during that span.

Keeping Brown in a Steelers uniform long term is huge for the team. Though, from a fantasy perspective, it enables those in dynasty leagues to continue relying on him with Julio Jones as the most-productive fantasy receiver over the long term.

Not only has Brown shown utter statistical dominance over a long period of time, he's played on all but three games over the past four seasons. At just 28, he's also still in the prime of his career. As long as Ben Roethlisberger continues to toss the rock around Heinz Field, Brown will remain one of the two-best fantasy receivers in the game. This extension adds to that belief.
