With Martavis Bryant being reinstated for the 2017 season, the Pittsburgh Steelers moved one of their other young talented receivers for future assets.
The team dealt wide receiver Sammie Coates to the division-rival Cleveland Browns on Saturday in excahange for a 2018 sixth-round pick.
This is a pretty big move for a Browns squad that is starved for more talent at wide receiver with Josh Gordon still suspended. Coates, 24, has a real opportunity for starter-caliber snaps in Cleveland this season.
The former Auburn standout caught 21 passes for 435 yards as a second-year player in Pittsburgh last season. He should enter the regular season as Cleveland's No. 3 receiver, behind Kenny Britt and Corey Coleman.
However, with rookie DeShone Kizer under center, it's really hard to rely on any Browns pass catcher from a fantasy football aspect. We're going to want to see how Hue Jackson's offense plays out under the wide-eyed rookie before drawing any ultimate conclusions here.
What we do know is that Coates now offers more fantasy relevance than earlier in the day when he was stuck behind at least three receivers on Pittsburgh's depth chart.
