It seems like there is some unpsoken issue between the Green Bay Packers coaching staff and Eddie Lacy. After putting up four attempts in the first half, Lacy was seen with an annoyed look on the sideline for the remainder of the game.
It was reported during the NFL Network broadcast that Packers coaches indicated Lacy was out of the game for reasons other than an injury — a clear sign that Green Bay isn't even close to sold on the running back playing a large role moving forward this season.
Following the dramatic late-game win, it became clear that Lacy was in the team's doghouse. Undrafted rookie free agent John Crockett tallied as many attempts as Lacy in the game.
Looking at it a bit further, there are indications that Lacy was being punished for some sort of issues during practice. Though, his banishment from the field could have more to do with the mistakes he made, including a fumble, against the Chicago Bears on Thanksgiving night.
As it is, Lacy can't be relied on as a reliable fantasy performer until the Packers show some confidence in him actually playing a role on offense. That much is clear.
