Last week, B/R's Mike Freeman tweeted that multiple people around the NFL believed Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck was playing hurt. Not a lot was made of the tweet but just days later, Luck was limited during Wednesday's practice. Now Luck's prognosis for Sunday's game becomes even cloudier with the team signing Josh Johnson.
Johnson figures in as the Colts' third-string quarterback if Luck (shoulder) starts on Sunday, but signing Johnson at this points leads a stronger indication that Luck will not play against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
If Luck is held out, 40-year-old Matt Hasselbeck will start against the Jacksonville Jaguars. He would join Luke McCown, Brandon Weeden, Johnny Manziel, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Michael Vick and Jimmy Clausen as backup quarterbacks who became starters after the starter got hurt.
On Sunday if it's announced Hasselbeck is starting, Frank Gore will see a boost in value with the Colts likely to run the ball more, while all Colts' wide receivers take a hit.
