Shut it down.
That's exactly what the Patriots are hoping now that they've signed former divisional foe Darrelle Revis to a one-year, $12 million contract.
Revis, who's tumultuous one-year tenure in Tampa Bay came to an end Wednesday around 4PM EST, immediately left for New England and signed a one-year deal around 8:30 ET Wednesday night.
Revis, who has 21 career interceptions saw his rise to fame between the 2008-2009 seaons, where he compiled 15 total interceptions. Since then, Revis has just seven interceptions, and missed 14 games of the 2012 season after suffering a torn ACL in week 3. Revis' tenure in New York ended quite ugly with a trade to the Buccaneers last spring where he signed a six-year/$96 million deal, which allowed the Bucs to cut him after each year (if they chose) without any cap penalty. Revis made $16 million during his lone year in Tampa Bay.
Revis will now pair with Devin McCourty, an already top-level cornerback in the NFL, yet again solidifying the Patriots as a Super Bowl contender in the AFC.
