After Monday's controversial win over the Detroit Lions, Seattle Seahawks tight end Jimmy Graham seems to have hit that inevitable wall that most expected to come with a tight end in a pass-first offense joining a team with one of the most overtly run-based attacks in the NFL.
Graham, who did break out to the tune of seven catches for 83 yards and a score against the Chicago Bears last week, caught just four passes on five targets for 29 yards on Monday night. This brings Graham's four-game total to 18 catches for 174 yards and two scores.
The talented tight end may be on pace for eight touchdowns — something that still makes him relevant from a fantasy perspective. However, his total of 174 receiving yards through four games is troublesome. That's only magnified by a FanDuel price tag that has still placed him among the five-highest valued players at his position during the first four weeks.
It's clear at this point that Graham isn't a central focus of Seattle's offense. That's only going to take on a new meaning when Marshawn Lynch returns healthy, likely next week.
Through four weeks, Graham ranks 12th among NFL tight ends in targets, sixth in receptions and 11th in receiving yards. He's also 11th in fantasy points among tight ends through four weeks. Unless everything changes as it relates to Graham's usage, it's safe to assume he can't be relied on as a top-end daily option. And while you have no other choice to start him in year-long leagues, expectations should be muted there as well.
