Jonathan Stewart Sidelined with Sprained Foot

Carolina Panthers running back Jonathan Stewart missed the second half of last week's game against the Atlanta Falcons with a foot injury.

At that time, it appeared Stewart's absence from the lineup was more of a precaution than anything else. After all, the Panthers were absolutely dominating a horrible Falcons team.

Unfortunately, that may no longer be the case.

Stewart was seen around the Panthers facility on Monday with a walking boot on his left foot — a sure sign that he could very well miss some time.

At 13-0 on the season and on the verge of wrapping up home-field advantage throughout the playoffs, the expectation here is that Carolina will play it cautiously with Stewart.

Stewart, 28, has had himself a heck of a rebound performance this season. Through the first 13 games, he has put up nearly 1,100 total yards with seven touchdowns.

With Stewart potentially out against the New York Giants next week, Cameron Artis-Payne will likely get the bulk of the carries for Carolina.
