The 2015 season has been a perfect summary of Jordan Reed's situation. Washington's tight end has a history of injuries including concussions, which have often kept him off the field. Now Washington will be without their athletic tight end on Sunday as the result of another concussion.
Reed suffered a concussion and sprained knee in last week's game, leading to Washington taking extra precaution given Reed's extended history of concussions. It's an unfortunate turn given Reed has been excellent this season in four games, hauling in 24 receptions for 278 yards and a touchdown. Those numbers could have been even better if Reed had someone better than Kirk Cousins throwing him passes.
With Reed out of action, Derek Carrier and Anthony McCoy will split time in his place. Neither are worth looking at as fantasy options this week, both because of their own talent level and the questions at quarterback. We just have to hope Reed can make a full recovery and be cleared by doctors in the near future.
