Just a few days after ending his six-week long holdout, Seattle Seahawks strong safety Kam Chancellor has been added to the team's active roster prior to Saturday afternoon's deadline.
This means that Chancellor will be active Sunday afternoon against a lowly Chicago Bears team.
In Chancellor's absense, the Seahawks' defense has been about as bad as we have seen under head coach Pete Carroll. In fact, it currently ranks 30th among NFL defenses in scoring average at nearly 31 points per game.
We can expect all this to change with Jimmy Clausen slated to take over for an injured Jay Cutler when Chicago travels to the Pacific Northwest on Sunday. Clausen, a career backup, is making his first regular season road start since a 2010 campaign that saw him finish with a 1-9 record as a starter for the Carolina Panthers.
Chancellor's presence likely indicates a down game for Bears running back Matt Forte, who will be running against a stacked box come Sunday afternoon. Looking to get right, Seattle's defense is primed for a huge performance against a bad Bears team.
