This is big news for both the Pittsburgh Steelers and those who have bought stock in All-Pro running back Le'Veon Bell. After suffering a torn MCL and PCL in his right knee in Week 8 last season, there was some concern that Bell might still be sidelined later this summer when training camp gets going.
That no longer appears to be the case.
Speaking with ESPN on Saturday, Bell indicated that he will be a full go when camp starts later this month.
"I'm going to be ready," Bell said of training camp. "The biggest thing for me is getting mentally ready for getting hit and things like that, and I don't think I'll really get tackled until a preseason game or maybe in the regular season. I don't think I'll actually hit the ground or get tackled. But when that does happen, I'll be ready for it."
Bell tallied nearly 700 total yards and three scores in six games a season ago. That came on the heels of him putting up 1,361 rushing yards to go with 83 receptions for 854 yards the previous season. This enabled Bell to finish as the top fantasy running back that season.
Despite last year's injury and a current ADP that has him as the No. 2 overall player off the board, there doesn't seem to be any reason to avoid Bell in upcoming drafts. His comments on Saturday makes this readily apparent.
