Luke Kuechly Ruled Out For Week 2 versus Houston Texans

The Carolina Panthers have already been dealt a bad hand this season with injuries on offense, now their defense is taking a hit. Defensive captain and All-Pro linebacker Luke Kuechly left the Panthers' opener against the Jacksonville Jaguars and has now been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Houston Texans.

Kuechly's injury was certainly concerning to see on video and at a time when concussions and head trauma are a growing topic in the NFL, Carolina was smart to play it safe with its star linebacker and hold him out of this game.

A.J. Klein will start in his place, delivering a major blow to the Panthers' defense this week. From a fantasy perspective, Carolina's defense was definitely on a radar with a matchup against Ryan Mallett and the Arian Foster-less Texans, but this should take away some of the stability on the Panthers' defense and scare away anyone from using them this week.
