If there was any concern about Julio Jones troublesome toe heading into Sunday's NFC Championship Game, that was thrown completely out the window early and often.
Jones put up nine receptions for 180 yards and two touchdowns in the Atlanta Falcons' 44-21 blowout win over the Green Bay Packers on Sunday. It was part of a larger explosion from the Falcons' offense that saw MVP candidate Matt Ryan complete 27-of-38 passes for 392 yards with five total touchdowns and zero interceptions.
Needless to say, those who decided on playing the final multi-game slate of DFS actions his season were rewarded big time by the Falcons' offensive explosion en route to the team earning its second-ever trip to the Super Bowl. Ryan also threw touchdown passes to Mohamed Sanu and Devonta Freeman in the win. In fact, Freeman gained 84 yards and a touchdown in 18 touches. Meanwhile, fellow running back Tevin Coleman went for 64 yards and a score on 14 touches.
While Atlanta's offense was flowing under soon-to-be San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan, the Packers' offense simply couldn't keep up.
Finding themselves down by the score of 31-0 early in the fourth quarter, Aaron Rodgers and Co. just didn't have what it took to keep pace with Ryan and Atlanta's offense.
Rodgers would end the day completing 27-of-45 passes for 287 yards with three touchdowns and one interception. Unfortunately, he also led the Packers in rushing with 46 yards on four attempts. That right there was the biggest issues offensively for Green Bay ... a lack of balance.
Playing despite suffering multiple broken ribs, Jordy Nelson put up a solid 6-67-1 stat line. Randall Cobb added 82 yards on six catches. Though, it was the lack of production from an injured Davante Adams that hurt the team big time. Dealing with a sprained knee, Adams put up just three receptions for 16 yards in the blowout loss.
Atlanta now takes on the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LI in Houston in two weeks. Meanwhile, the Packers are back to the drawing board after seeing their defense embarrassed by an elite-level Falcons offense.
