Michael Floyd Out At Least Three Weeks with Hand Injury

Multiple reports surfaced late Wednesday afternoon that Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Michael Floyd broke multiple fingers during the team's training camp practice. While it's not yet confirmed what actually happened, the Cardinals official site did confirm that Floyd had suffered a hand injury—an injury that forced him to head to the locker room with trainers not far behind.

Kent Somers of AZ Central Sports is indicating that Floyd escaped with muliple dislocated fingers, which could keep him out of action for a month:

While much more optimistic than initial reports that had Floyd out up to 12 weeks, this is still going to be a major issue for the receiver entering his contract year. The coaching staff had shown certain levels of frustration with inconsistency on his part. And with John Brown performing at a high level, this could potentially push Floyd down the depth chart.

Fantasy Spin

Floyd, entering his fourth season in the NFL, is coming off a disappointing 2014 campaign that saw him tally just 47 receptions for 841 yards and six scores. He also caught just 48 percent of the passes thrown in his directions with a six percent drop rate. All said, Floyd finished the 2014 campaign as the 32nd-ranked fantasy receiver after entering the year with much higher expectations.

Prior to this injury, Floyd's ADP had him as the 32nd receiver off the board. We can expect that to drop in the coming days. Though, Floyd still offers decent FLEX potential in standard 12-team leagues.
