Mississippi's Laquon Treadwell Won't Run at the Combine

The consensus top wide receiver in the 2016 NFL Draft, Mississippi's Laquon Treadwell, won't run at the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis this week.

Considered more of a physical type without track speed on the field, Treadwell will put off running the 40-yard dash and other speed-specific drills until the Ole Miss Pro Day later in the spring.

It's a rather interesting move for a receiver that already isn't known for his speed. In reality, those teams who might covet him in the first round aren't necessarily looking for a 4.30 40-yard time from Treadwell.

That's why the decision doesn't seem to make a whole bunch of sense.

With Treadwill not running in Indianapolis, the likes of TCU's Josh Doctson and Ohio State's Michael Thomas have an opportunity to inch closer to the top receiver prospect in the draft.
