Most Glaring New Orleans Saints Needs Heading NFL Draft Season

The New Orleans Saints were back to their winning ways last season with the return of Head Coach, Sean Payton. They finished 11-5 and clinched a wild card spot last year, but lost in the playoffs.

New Orleans has one of the best quarterbacks in the league in Drew Brees which greatly helps them with building and adding on to an already solid roster. However, as the NFL Draft approaches, there are a few additions the Saints need to make.

The linebacker position is a need for the Saints that can be solved through the draft. They had issues against the run last season and the problem needs to be addressed. There are plenty of options for the Saints in the draft considering they have a 3-4 defensive setup.

Also on the defensive side, they could use a cornerback. Keenan Lewis was a great acquisition for them last year, but it’s unknown who will play beside him.  They did sign veteran Champ Bailey, but they still need a new one. A cornerback would greatly benefit the Saints defensive scheme and it’s been said they’ll target a corner this year.

A wide receiver should also be on the Saints radar.  The Saints run a pretty good offense with Brees, Jimmy Graham and Marques Colston, but they could use another offensive weapon to occupy a defense.

The Saints had a comeback season last year, and with a few key acquisitions could be set for quite a while.
