Russell Wilson, Quarterback, Seattle Seahawks
Any time injury and Russell Wilson are mentioned together, you can hear the entire Pacific Northwest gasping for air. Though, it doesn't look like the ankle injury Wilson suffered in Sunday's win over the Miami Dolphins is going to keep him out of action. While obviously slowed down initially, the quarterback didn't miss a snap.
Though, reports following the game indicated that Wilson will undergo "precautionary" X-rays on the ankle. This is likely Seattle just making sure to cover all the bases.
Robert Griffin III, Quarterback, Cleveland Browns
This could be a bit more troubling than the Wilson injury. Griffin III suffered some sort of a shoulder issue after being hit on his non-throwing side during a late-game scramble against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Griffin III, who was coming off his first game as a member of the Browns, admitted afterwards that he was feeling considerable pain. The enigmatic quarterback is scheduled to undergo an MRI. Considering Griffin III's injury history, there has to be some caution taken here. We'll provide updates as they're made available.
Keenan Allen, Wide Receiver, San Diego Chargers
There's no other way to put it. This is absolutely devastating news for both Allen and his Chargers team. Various reports suggest that he suffered a torn ACL in the second quarter of Sunday's game against the Kansas City Chiefs. It was Allen's first game back since suffering a kidney injury last season.
Allen had put up six receptions on seven targets prior to going down to injury. We will obviously have updates on his condition once an official announcement is made, likely as early as Monday.
If Allen is indeed lost for the season, Travis Benjamin becomes a solid DFS play. Benjamin record seven receptions for just 32 yards on eight targets in his debut game against the Chiefs on Sunday. It might also be worth it to keep an eye on Tyrell Williams, who put up 71 yards on two receptions Sunday.
Julio Jones, Wide Receiver, Atlanta Falcons
Jones had a somewhat quiet regular season opener against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, going for 66 yards and a score on four receptions. There's a reason for this. One of the game's top receivers aggravated the ankle injury he suffered during the preseason, which limited his ability to perform on the turf in Atlanta.
The Pro Bowler doesn't seem to be too concerned over the injury, but it's something to definitely worth monitoring during practice early in the week. Jones' next game comes against an Oakland Raiders defense that was picked apart at the seams by Drew Brees and the Saints on Sunday.
