* Jay Cutler's performance against the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday night was nothing short of amazing. The toughness he displayed in coming back from a 17-point deficit could very well act as a spring board for the remainder of the season. With games coming up against the New York Jets and Green Bay Packers, you can expect some good numbers over the next two weeks. If you're relying on him as a QB1 moving forward, you should see solid numbers until about mid-season, at which point we will have a better understanding of where he stands in terms of our consistency metrics, which are huge when evaluating fantasy quarterbacks.
* Joe Flacco's standing as a bottom-tier QB1 won't last too long. It's pretty much a mirage at this point, especially considering the enigmatic quarterback tallied 60-plus pass attempts in Week 1. Baltimore had much more success with a run-heavy attack against the Pittsburgh Steelers last week, which could very well be the team's MO moving forward. With games coming up against the Cleveland Browns, Carolina Panthers, Indianapolis Colts and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, we can expect Flacco's fantasy ranking to come crashing down over the next month.
* Derek Carr is an interesting QB2 option moving forward. By virtue of the way he has played over the first two weeks, there is no reason to believe that the Raiders will decide to go with Matt Schaub at any point this season. Consistently playing from behind, Carr will be given the opportunity to put up some numbers. If you are considering him as a bye-week replacement, check in on who he is going up against when your QB1 has a bye week. But considering he's gone up against two stellar defenses, there should be confidence that Carr should at least be able to perform at a top-20 quarterback for the remainder of the year.

* If you're in a PPR league, Darren Sproles is a must buy on the waiver wire. His ADP heading into the season suggests that the veteran wasn't necessarily a draft addition in most leagues, which could be good for you. With that said, Monday's performance indicates that he's likely been picked up. If you were lucky enough to be one of those to nab Sproles, look for bottom-tier RB2 or FLEX production from here on out. Going up against the NFC East in six of the final 14 games surely will help what Sproles is able to offer. The upside here is real.
* Another player that you might be able to rely on as a RB2 or FLEX option moving forward is Ahmad Bradshaw. With the way that Trent Richardson has played through the first two games, the expectation has to be that Bradshaw will continue to accumulate more touches than his counterpart. Through two games, the veteran has been a top-six fantasy running back and is averaging 13 touches per outing.
Notes
Steve Smith's advanced fantasy metrics suggest that he will be a top-15 fantasy receiver when all is said and done. He has been targeted 25 times in the first two games, which is more than twice the amount of teammate Torrey Smith. That's something to keep your eye on moving forward. With games coming up against the Browns, Panthers, Colts and Buccaneers, there could be a downtick in production here.
Brian Quick was one of my 2012 NFL draft crushes, but it took him a long time to become a viable receiver in the NFL. That seems to have happened in 2014 with 14 receptions in two games. He leads the Rams in receptions, targets and receiving yards...and it's really not that close. As the only consistent receiving threat on the team, Quick will continue to offer WR2 upside as the season progresses. But make sure to play the matchups here, as he has six games remaining against tough NFC West defenses.
With the news that Josh Gordon will be suspended 10 games, Andrew Hawkins immediately becomes a fantasy starter, likely from the FLEX position, for the remainder of the year. He has tallied 22 targets through two games, which is an indication of continued fantasy success.
Notes
Delanie Walker will be a top-seven fantasy tight end when all is said and done this year. The former 49ers backup has taken his game to the next level and is now a viable TE1 option. He has tallied 18 targets through two games, which ranks him fifth in the NFL among tight ends.
