An MRI on Saturday did in fact confirm that New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman suffered a torn ACL in Friday's game against the Detroit Lions. He will miss the entire 2017 season.
Tom Brady's favorite slot target over the past several seasons, Edelman caught 98 passes for 1,106 yards last season. He will surely be missed.
From a fantasy perspective, we can expect upticks in value when it comes to both Brandin Cooks and Chris Hogan, the latter of him scored two touchdowns on passes from Tom Brady against Detroit on Friday. Hogan led the NFL in yards per reception last season, but was only targeted 58 times. Look for that number to be closer to 100 in 2017, making Hogan a viable WR2/FLEX option in 12-team leagues.
