New England Patriots Sign WR Chris Hogan

The New England Patriots made it a priority to upgrade their receiving corps this offseason, after first striking out on some of the top options, they've agreed to a three-year, $12 million deal with Chris Hogan. New England gave Hogan the offer sheet earlier in the day and the Buffalo Bills promtply declined to pick it up, making the deal official.

Hogan finished last season with 36 receptions for 450 receiving yards and two touchdowns, wrapping up his third season with the Bills. In New England, Hogan will latch on to a much better situation to help boost his statistical output. While he is a slot receiver like Danny Amendola and Julian Edelman, he offers good insurance in the event one of the two injury-prone receivers gets hurt.

Fantasy owners in deep leagues should draft Hogan as a late-round flier who can offer impressive upside in PPR leagues if one of Edelman or Amendola miss action. Otherwise, he should be a waiver wire add when the season rolls around.
