Name: Eric Ebron
Position: Tight End
School: North Carolina
When you take a look at this years draft class every position's top player is up for debate. That is except for tight end, nobody in this class is better than Eric Ebron. In fact one Ex-NFL scout said that he believes Ebron could be better than Jimmy Graham and that he is the best tight end he has scouted since Kellen Winslow Jr.. We are still a ways away from the big day but let's take a look how he measures up with the New York Jets.
How Eric Ebron Meets Team Needs
The Jets desperately need a game changing tight end. Ebron fit's that mold better than the options the Jets have currently Jeff Cumberland, Zach Sudfield, or Chris Pantale. Whatever it is it's not good. Jeff Cumberland is an average tight end who could be a viable number two on most teams. Nevertheless, if the Jets were to add a player of Ebron's caliber it would give them a realistic chance to have an actual offense.
Impact As a Rookie
Eric Ebron can be put on any NFL roster an immedietly make an impact. His rare size and athleticism combination is something that has a place anywhere in the NFL. I firmly believe simply his prescence on a roster can add two or three wins to your total.
What Eric Ebron Does Well
He told College Football 24/7 that what seperates him from guys like Jace Amaro and Austin S. Jenkins is his athleticism; and he is absolutely correct. What he does well is use his size, speed, and hands to attack and beat any cornerback or safety that wants to stand in his way. Watch all of the tight end's in this draft class' tape and tell me if you find another player who is fearless in traffic and pulls down the most impossible looking plays.
What Eric Ebron Struggles With
Ebron is seemingly still figuring out his still growing body. He at times has trouble realizing how big he really is, and when he learns how to use his body to his advantage and be a little more physical he will be a top five player in the game.
