NFL Week 10 Review: AFC East

Buffalo Bills 31, New England Patriots 37

Sunday’s game between division rivals Buffalo and New England was closer than most people expected. The Bills and Patriots lit up the scoreboard Sunday putting on an offensive show for the fans at Gillette Stadium. If you are a fan of defensive football then you probably did not enjoy this game.

The Pats jumped out to an early lead and the game seemed headed to a lopsided victory but the pesky Bills would not go down easily. The Bills rallied late in the game got within six points of the Patriots. On the final drive of the game Bill’s quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick had his team in position to score the game winning touchdown but a late interception with 23 seconds to go sealed the victory for New England.

Despite the loss Buffalo put on an offensive show Fitzpatrick threw for 337 yards passing and two touchdowns. On the ground running backs Fred Jackson and CJ Spiller combined for 150 rushing yards and two touchdowns. The loss puts Buffalo in a tough spot to make the playoff. On the other side the win put New England in the drivers seat for the AFC East crown.

Tennessee Titans 37, Miami Dolphins 3

There was a professional football game played in Miami on Sunday between the Tennessee Titans and the Miami Dolphins, but somebody forgot to tell the Dolphins about it. Tennessee coming off an embarrassing loss to the Chicago Bears last week was ready to play and it showed. The Dolphins were never in this game. The Titans out played Miami in all areas of the game.

The Titans capitalized on Miami’s turn overs and the Dolphins did nothing to stop them. By half time Tennessee had build a 24-3 lead. By the end of the game the Titans had added to their lead finishing the game with a final score of 37-3.

Titan’s quarterback Jake Locker showed why he is the starter in Tennessee. Locker’s return from an injury was solid, he did not have the best game statistically but was elusive enough to keep Miami’s pass rush at bay. The normally reliable Dolphin’s quarterback Ryan Tannehill turned the ball over three times. The Dolphins must regroup quickly because the have a short week as they play the Buffalo Bills on Thursday.

New York Jets 7, Seattle Seahawks 28

The struggling New Yorks Jets had to fly across the country to face a Seattle team that has not lost at home this season, not a good combination for a struggling football team. The Jets sorrows continued Sunday. Jets QB Mark Sanchez was out played by rookie Seattle QB Russell Wilson. Seattle dominated the game on both sides, while the Jets could not seem to find the answer on offense. Sanchez continued his erratic play throwing for an anemic 124 yards no touchdowns and a costly interception early in the game.

The Seahawks battled all game and head coach Pete Carol had his quarterback playing at a high level. Wilson had solid performance against a Jets defense that was playing with maximum effort. Wilson ended the game with a respectable 188 yards passing and two touchdowns. On the ground Seattle RB Marshawn Lynch rushed for 124 yards and a touchdown.

In hopes of finding a winning formula on offense the Jets seemed to put in Tim Tebow in a few more plays than usual but to no avail. The Jets scored seven points in the first quarter and those were the last points they would score all game. Seattle ended up scoring 28 points by the end of the game and handily defeated the Jets.
