Week 13 is almost here and with it comes some intriguing AFC West matchups.
The 4-7 Oakland Raiders will take on the 6-5 Dallas Cowboys in Dallas on Thanksgiving. After a heartbreaking loss to the Tennessee Titans last week, the Raiders will look to rebound against a good Cowboys team.
Jared Veldheer will make his season debut this Thursday and will greatly improve a struggling offensive line that has missed him this season. Darren McFadden is also set to return after missing a few weeks. Unfortunately, Denarius Moore will be inactive again this week for the silver and black.
Tony Romo is a career 15-1 as a starter in November and has a good chance at making it 16-1 this week. The odds are against the Raiders in this one, as the Cowboys are the clear favorites to win.
The 5-6 San Diego Chargers will host the 7-4 Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday. The Chargers pulled off quite the upset last week, beating the Kansas City Chiefs in a close 41-38 game.
After such a victory, the Chargers have momentum on their side as they face another tough opponent in Andy Dalton and the Bengals. Both the Chargers and Bengals have shown improvement this year, and will look to continue their success.
The Bengals are the favorites for this matchup, but after beating the Chiefs, don’t count the Chargers out just yet.
The Kansas City Chiefs and Denver Broncos are both 9-2 and will go head to head in KC this Sunday. The last time these teams played each other was in Week 11, and the Broncos came out on top 27-17.
Last week the Chiefs lost to the Chargers, and the Broncos blew a 24 point lead and lost to the New England Patriots in Foxboro.
These have been the most anticipated matchups of the year thus far as two of the top teams, who are also division rivals, always provide good and entertaining games. Peyton Manning and the Broncos will look to sweep the Chiefs, while Alex Smith and the tough Chiefs defense will look for a season split. At this point this game is a toss up, but the Chiefs may have the advantage this week with the Arrowhead crowd.
